Gentle Pilates Hip and Low Back Release

I'm sure you've heard of all the physical benefits to your Pilates practice - toned abs, a connected core, strong glutes, a stable low back, and great posture - the list could go on and on!

But did you know that I consider all of those things to be a bonus benefit of my practice?

Seriously, I've realized over the decades that the emotional and mental benefits of my Pilates practice are what truly motivate me to workout - these include relieving stress, elevating moods, releasing tension, processing emotions, and calming the mind - although this list could go on and on too!

I know it's easy to focus on all the amazing physical benefits of Pilates but when I'm hesitating about getting on my mat for a workout it's the emotional and mental benefits that inspire me to get there.

My Gentle Pilates for Hip and Low Back Release workout will help you release tension and stress - which is often stored in hips and low backs.

Really, you might call this 12-minute sequence more of a mindful movement experience than a workout, since it's focused on releasing tension in a slow, gentle way.

Many folks hold a lot of tension from stress (and from sitting) in their hips and low back, and need gentle, mobilizing, restorative movements to release it. 

Working in a slow deliberate pace helps you body feel safe and supported so it can release and let go of the tension that's being held there.

Bookmark this page for those days when you're craving a reset of body, mind, and spirit - you'll be amazed at how quickly you can feel the changes.

This is also a great warm-up before a hike or other activity where you'll enjoy having strong and supple hips!
